Driehoek, Potterie De

Pottery factory/Potterie de Driehoek, their pottery is called Huizen ceramics. Mechanical production of single pieces of household pottery and fashionable ceramic dinnerware. Mark/backstamp Huizen Holland.

After World War II complete dinner sets were out of fashion and de Driehoek invented the Link Dinner-Set in fire-proof Stonelite. You could buy/link pieces for your set in your own tempo (long supply). Application of plastics/bakelite saucers with coffee/tea sets in 1949, because of the rise of plastics. Functional stavast (= stand still) cup and saucer, cup could not slide of saucer.

Romantic Huizer/Boerenbont, means Colourfull Folk Art produced from 1951 till 1957. Regina lost in 1959 the lawsuit against De Driehoek, because decor Tulipe was not an imitation of decor Black Princess. In the sixties bright Pop-colors, like purple, orange, cobalt-blue, etc. By taking over Fris in 1969, Driehoek became the biggest kitchenware pottery factory. Wide section of the population reached by selling their pottery in for example Vroom & Dreesmann, department store. Lots of orders placed in 1970 but went wrong by low productivity. Because of shortage of trained and Dutch speaking man-power. Hamming
