Brantjes en Co., Firma Weduwe N.S.A.
Weduwe Brantjes en Co, this pottery factory started with Delft ware imitations, later colourfull decorations, like portraits and a nature inspired Art Nouveau-style. Impressionists landscape, copied from paintings decorations and hatched paintings on cream coloured ceramics, only done by the most talented artists, like Boeziek. Factory mark/backstamp : wooden shoe/clog, sometimes Faience de Purmerende Hollande.
Brantjes produced handpainted decorative art pottery with a colourless glaze (with exception of the Delft' group) and tiles, inspired at Rozenburg (her eggshell porcelain decoration) and the Porceleyne Fles, high quality painted decorations. First named Faience de Purmerende (international name, because biggest part of production was destined for export), after 1904 Haga took over Brantjes.
